Can you repair my GHD model?


We can repair all electrical faults on all genuine GHD straighteners except the discontinued Eclipse Model & Gold S7N261 the Platinum+ S7N262.


Can you repair fake GHD’s?


Fake GHD’s are very dangerous; we will not repair them. Please check our fake guide to make sure your article is genuine as charges will be apply to return fake GHD’s.


I have stood on/cracked my GHD, can it be repaired?


We can replace, where available, broken arms/casings. There is an additional charge of £10 per arm for this service. Please contacts directly if you need this service.


How long will the repair take?


For the standard repair on most models we aim to repair, test and return the GHD the same day as we receive them. You can check your postage tracking to see when the item has been received by us. We will call or email you if there is any problem. Providing you’ve paid online and provided an email address, we will notify you when the GHD is being returned.

For the platinum repair service please allow 1-3 working days to complete.


How much will the repair cost?


Our standard repair fee is £29.99*. This fee includes parts, labour, testing, PAT test and return UK postage. *Return postage to Europe & Rest of the world will incur additional costs. We also charge an additional fee to replace broken outer casings.

Our platinum repair service is a great value £49.99  This fee includes parts, labour, testing, PAT test and return UK postage.


Are you able to repair other brands of straighteners?


We also repair Cloud Nine straighteners, see the link in the menu for this service.

In some instances, our ranges of spare parts are compatible with other branded stylers. Please call or email us prior to sending your styler to us. 


How do I pay & arrange a repair?


It’s simple, you can pay securely online at , by credit/debit card or Paypal. You’ll then receive a reference number which you’ll need to send to us with the GHD and a completed repair form. If you are unable to print the repair form please send a covering note instead which includes; your name, address, telephone number, email address, a brief description of the fault and the payment reference. If you are unable to pay online, please send a cheque made payable to ‘Ion Originals Ltd’ along with the covering letter.


How do I send my GHD to you?


Please don’t send any original packaging or accessories, but do make sure they are wrapped in a well-padded envelope to avoid damage during transit. We recommend using a Royal Mail signed for service.


Where do I post my GHD for repair?


If you are using a Royal Mail service, please send them to; Ion Originals Ltd, PO BOX 104, Alnwick NE66 9DE


If you are using an alternative courier you must send them to our full address; Ion Originals Ltd, Unit 2a Greensfield Court, Alnwick, Northumberland NE66 2DE




Do you have a local workshop where I can drop in my GHD’s?


We have one workshop, which is located in Alnwick, Northumberland NE66 2DE. We are able to serve the UK and beyond it our postal repair service


What are your opening hours?


We are open 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed bank holidays and over the Christmas/New Year period, please check our Facebook Page for details.


Although we are closed weekends/holidays, you can still send your GHD’s to us as they will be held securely by Royal Mail/Courier and delivered during opening hours.


Do I get a warranty with my repair?


All repairs come with a 6 month warranty from the date of return. For terms of the warranty please see our terms and conditions


I have a GHD which is fitted with an adaptor plug, the adaptor plug is broken; do I need to send them for repair?


Most GHD’s come with a 2 pin EU plug, with a Power Connections UK plug adaptor fitted. If this is damaged/faulty, there is no need to send them to us for repair; you can purchase a new plug from


I’ve sent my GHD for repair and I have not received it back yet, where is it?


Although we always aim to return the repaired GHD the same day as we receive it, this on some occasions in not possible.


Before contacting us, please check the following;


  1. We have signed for the item. You can check your postage tracking online with Royal Mail/you courier.

  2. We may have sent you an email or text message regarding the repair, please check your inbox.

  3. We have not already dispatched the item and sent you the tracking via email.
